Looking at a press line of your own?
Revro supplies, installs and commissions complete press lines and coil-feed equipment across Australia, New Zealand and the wider region - new and reconditioned, with service, spare parts and clutch and brake work to back them. Tell us your strip envelope, tonnage and production targets and we will spec a line to match.
Revro supplied a Model SX2-2000G double-crank press to an Australian client for heavy precision work. The press met and exceeded the client’s expectations on the floor, and the same customer returned to Revro for a second, identical machine.
Model SX2-2000G-2100-1200 · double-crank press · two supplied.
Proven, then repeated
The clearest measure of a press line is whether the customer buys the same machine again. After the first SX2-2000G was commissioned and running to expectation, the client placed a repeat order for an identical press, rather than re-specifying or shopping the market. The second machine matches the first exactly, which keeps tooling, spares, operator training and maintenance common across both.

Why a double-crank press
A double-crank press drives the slide from two points rather than one. That single design choice is what makes it suited to large, wide and off-centre work:
- Even force across a wide bed. With two connection points spread across the slide, pressing force is distributed rather than concentrated at the centre. On a bed this wide – 2,100 mm left to right – that keeps tonnage available right across the working area.
- Resistance to off-centre loading. Dies are rarely loaded dead-centre. The two-point drive resists the tipping moment that off-centre and one-sided loads create, holding the slide parallel to the bed through the stroke.
- Straighter, more accurate parts. Because the slide stays parallel and deflects less, blanked and formed parts come out more consistent, with tighter dimensional control from the first hit to the last.
- Longer tool life. Even loading and reduced slide tip mean dies wear more evenly, and punches and guides see less side load – which extends the life of expensive tooling.
- Built for progressive work. The stable, parallel slide makes the double-crank press a natural fit for long progressive dies and multiple stations running across the bed in a single stroke.
What they are used for
Double-crank presses are the workhorse of medium to heavy sheet-metal production, particularly where parts are large or dies run several operations across a wide bed. Typical work includes:
- Blanking, piercing and forming of medium to large sheet-metal parts
- Progressive and multi-station die work
- Forming and drawing of panels and pressings
- Brackets, chassis and structural components
- Automotive and transport pressings
- Whitegoods and appliance panels
- Electrical enclosures, switchboards and cabinets
- HVAC, metal furniture and general fabrication
With a 2,100 mm x 1,200 mm bed and a 200 mm stroke, the SX2-2000G handles wide dies and larger pressings that a smaller single-point press cannot hold accurately – which is exactly the capability this client put to the test before ordering the second machine.
